Our Online Strength & Functional Movement service is designed to help you build strength, improve your movement and become more confident with exercise — with a programme built around your body, your health and your starting point.
You might be completely new to strength training. You might be returning to exercise after years away. You may be living with joint pain, arthritis, obesity or another health condition and be unsure what exercise is right for you.
You don’t need to be fit to get started. That’s what we’re here for.
Knowing that exercise is good for you and knowing what to actually do are two very different things.

Your first appointment is about understanding you.
We’ll talk about your health, your movement, what you can currently do and what you would like to be able to do.
Your physiotherapist will explore:We’ll then establish an appropriate starting point and create an individual strength and movement programme for you.
You don’t need a home gym or lots of equipment. We’ll work with your circumstances and advise you on what you need.
There is no minimum level of fitness required.
And there is no judgement about where you’re starting from.
Our physiotherapists regularly work with people who have pain, injuries, reduced mobility and long-term health conditions.
Your programme can take account of conditions such as:If you’re currently receiving medical care or taking medication for a health condition, we’ll take this into consideration when planning your programme.
Where appropriate, we’ll advise if additional medical clearance or input from your healthcare team is recommended.Strength and resistance exercise can be an important part of looking after your overall health while working towards weight-management goals.
If you are receiving medical weight-management treatment, including GLP-1 medication, our physiotherapists can help you introduce appropriate strength and resistance exercise based on your current ability and health.

Use your 40-minute follow-up sessions to exercise with your physiotherapist, work on technique and build your confidence.
As you become stronger and more confident, we'll adapt and progress your programme towards your goals.

Your physiotherapist will design your programme around what you have available at home. Many exercises can be completed using your own body weight or everyday household items. If we think a small piece of equipment would be helpful as you progress, we can advise you, but you don’t need to buy anything before your first appointment.Yes. In fact, this is one of the reasons working with a physiotherapist can be particularly helpful.
If you have joint pain, arthritis, back pain, a previous injury or another movement difficulty, your physiotherapist can take this into account when developing your programme.
We’ll help you understand what movements and exercises are appropriate for your body, adapt exercises where needed and guide your progression.That’s absolutely fine. You don’t need any previous exercise experience or a certain level of fitness to start.
We’ll meet you where you are now. Your physiotherapist will establish an appropriate starting point and guide you through your exercises so you know what to do and how to do it.
As your strength and confidence improve, we’ll progress your programme with you.Yes. If you’re taking a GLP-1 or other weight-management medication, we can help you incorporate strength and resistance exercise into your overall health journey.
We’ll consider your current health, activity levels, symptoms and goals when developing your programme.
Our focus is on helping you build or maintain strength, improve your physical function and develop an approach to movement that is realistic and sustainable for you.
If there are medical concerns that require additional input, your physiotherapist can advise you to speak with your GP or treating healthcare team.Yes. The service is completely online, so you can take part from anywhere in Ireland.
All you need is an internet connection and enough space to move comfortably. You can complete your assessment and follow-up sessions from your own home.Following your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will create an individual strength and functional movement plan based on your starting point, health and personal goals.
From there, we’ll continue to work with you for as much or as little support as you need.
That might mean meeting your physiotherapist weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Together, we’ll decide what frequency works best for you and your goals.
During your follow-up sessions, we’ll review how you’re getting on, work through exercises together, answer questions and adapt or progress your programme as you become stronger and more confident.
There isn’t one set pathway. The plan — and the level of support you receive — is built around you.You don’t need to know exactly what programme you need before you book.
