Many of our therapists are trained in dry needling – a tool which can be very helpful for relieving stress and tension in muscles.
The process involves inserting very fine needles into trigger points (knots) in muscles. Trigger points are caused by a portion of muscle fibers contracting together and getting stuck. Dry needling causes these muscle fibers to twitch and release. This treatment uses one needle at a time, and each needle is only insitu for a very short time. In most cases, needling treatment will be accompanied by exercises to help enhance long-term outcomes.
