Geraldine Murphy

Geraldine mainly teaches Reformer Pilates in our Bandon studio, a role she combines with a full time job as a Radiographer while also helping out on the family farm in her spare time!

Geraldine started off her Pilates journey as a participant with MaxPhysio in Clonakilty, and during the first COVID lockdown she decided to pass the time by completing the Matwork Pilates Instructor course through APPI before finally becoming a Reformer Instructor!

Her role in healthcare allows her to fully appreciate the many benefits that Pilates can bring to people in terms of injury prevention and rehabilitation. With a background in camogie, shinty, cycling, running and triathlon she uses Pilates to optimise her own health and performance, as well as extolling the virtues to others who share her sporting passions!

Geraldine’s pride and joy are her two boxer dogs, Archie and Harris, who are only too happy to help her with her farming duties and ensure anybody who comes near the garden is greeted with a suitably energetic and slobbery welcome!

Geraldine was voted the Scottish University Shinty Player of the Year in 2011 while studying at RGU in Aberdeen, and also competed as the Glasgow Rose at the Scottish Rose of Tralee Finals in 2014 – you’ll have to ask her what her special talent was, it’s a trade secret !!!
